PAPER PATCHWORK

Classroom Project

An activity that began as a curiosity turned into a real classroom project. Being a textile student, we accumulate a lot of paper and textile waste. And to sustain the waste into something useful, I investigated into making paper from waste paper and fibers.

I finally applied patchwork to these handmade papers and create a surface that can easily turned into an origami envelope, a gift wrap or even an artwork. I also explored the possibilities in machine sewing using water soluble paper to create 3D textile swatches.
